Ok so Tony Blair will be voted back in power on the 5th of May. This was never in any doubt, even when tens of thousands of British voters demonstrated against the invasion of an undemocratic Iraq last year we knew he would win the next election. I might've voted for Labour if Tony had let Gordon Brown have his go as leader, but the Liberal Democrats have a more positive manifesto for the country. The Tories are feeding off the fears of the paranoid people, trying to scare us into voting for them, so I'll give them a miss.
I checked out a website that asks you to fill in a questionnaire, then tells you which party shares your views the most:
Who should I vote for?
Your expected outcome:
Liberal DemocratYour actual outcome:
Labour -6 | |
Conservative -33 | |
Liberal Democrat 54 | |
UK Independence Party -17 | |
Green 36 |
You should vote: Liberal Democrat
The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.
